Trade Shows
Assistance Audio has been participating in trade shows, primarily NAMM and NSCA, since 2003 . They are a great place to meet industry greats, internet acquaintances, potential customers, and competitors. In-person interaction with our manufacturers is probably the best thing we get out of attending these events. It is the one time of year we get to talk face to face, find out about what is in the works and socialize.

Directly above is the BMS booth from 2004. The booth features an assortment of drivers, horns, one cone, and powered speakers from the sister company, Coda. The real eye grabber was the 4510 planar driver, covered with greasy finger prints at the end of every day. ;) The cone, a 15" that weighs only 3.3 Kg was also popular. It is always powerful to have the components that are being played in the powered cabinets on hand for the listener to handle. From BMS is Svetly Alexandrov and Marion Schroder.

The top photos show us launching our cooperation with CIARE, also in 2004, with the President, Mr. Fausto Fabbrini, and export manager Simone Santireli. The SW speakers are the items that collect all the finger prints at these shows... for some reason, the rubber surround and thick cone make people want to exersize them. After some of the cones at the Frankfurt show mysteriously disappeared, it was decided that cones intended for display only have no voice coils... so now the culprits only get a non-working sample.

The Assistance Audio booth at NAMM in 2006 featured both CIARE and BMS. Pictured with Simone is Lorenzo, and Mattia.

Below are some pictures of neighboring booths. First is the "I Like Electronics" booth with the flagship product, "Okay II" mics. ;-). Next is an unidentified booth that had only their name, no company information other than business cards, and one disgruntled occupant, until the last day when it was vacant save for the cards. Next is an animatronics booth with piano, bass and drums, all very sterile and likely to go off at any inappropriate moment. As W. Mark Hellinger put it, like being in a Chucky Cheese's all week.
